The Rattler in South Shields has an interesting story. It earned its name because of the rattling sounds it made on its journey. This charming train used to run from South Shields to popular destinations like Tynemouth, Boldon, & Sunderland, bringing joy to passengers along the way.
While the Marsden Rattler is no longer in operation, its carriages found a new purpose
as part of the Rattler Restaurant & Bar.
These carriages have been transformed into a unique dining experience,
where people can enjoy delicious food & drinks on
the beach front while surrounded by
the train's rich history.
